The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) was founded in 1969 for promoting and developing school education in the state of Punjab. The board has a wide scope of functions. The board is solely responsible for conducting public examinations at the Middle School level, Matriculation level and the Senior Secondary level. PSEB prescribes the courses of study and the text books for each level of school education.The board has a dedicated academic wing with subject experts, to prepare and outline the syllabus for various subjects and update and revise text books as per current educational standards. The board is also vested with the power to grant affiliations to schools in the state. The Punjab School Education Board will conduct the Class 10 Matriculation Exam 2015 across various districts of Punjab. Students who have registered for the Matriculation Exam of the Punjab Board, will have to appear for the following papers, viz. Science, English, Mathematics, Punjabi (A), Punjabi (B), Hindi, Computer Science, Social Science and Physical Education. On completing Matriculation, students can choose the subject streams of their choice, ie Science, Arts(Humanities) or Commerce.
